Do you want your terry cloth to maintain its softness, absorbency, and unique shade? Read our detailed tips on how to best care for Lejaan products and keep them looking new.

Towels, bathrobes, and bath mats made from terry cloth

Terry cloth is a type of looped fabric, usually made from cotton, with a high ability to absorb moisture, making it ideal for bathroom use. At Lejaan, we use this textile to sew towels, bath sheets, unisex bathrobes, and practical bath mats.

For towels, in addition to classic cotton, we also offer premium cotton, organic cotton, or a combination of cotton with hemp.

Our terry cloth can be wonderfully combined, as the collections often feature the same Pantone shade.

How and when to wash terry cloth

To preserve colorfastness and original quality, we recommend washing separately from other laundry (bedding or regular clothes) and separating white, light, and dark colors.

To destroy all bacteria, we suggest washing terry cloth at 60 °C and using gentler or eco-friendly detergents, always in an adequate dose. Try to avoid detergents, disinfectants, or other household mixtures containing bleaches, brighteners, benzoyl peroxide, or alpha-hydroxy acids. Also, avoid fabric softener. These products strip the items of softness and absorbent properties.

Bath mats are washed most frequently, as they are most prone to bacterial growth. The frequency of washing towels and bathrobes depends on your personal use and preferences. However, if you've taken any bath towel to the pool and it has come into contact with chlorinated water, it's advisable to wash out the chemicals as soon as possible.

We recommend washing terry cloth with a gentle detergent at 60 °C.

Terry cloth and drying

When drying, pay attention to moisture. Try to ventilate the room and do not leave damp items crumpled, to prevent unwanted steaming and bacterial growth. If you choose to tumble dry, select a gentle program and a low or medium temperature. This is the only way our towels and bathrobes will remain maximally soft and absorbent. Ironing is not necessary in this case.

Does freely dried terry cloth feel less soft? Give it a short, no-heat tumble dry. It's a guaranteed trick that works wonderfully.

Our Playful Cotton towels not only absorb water well but also dry quickly.

Storing terry cloth and a few practical tips

Store terry cloth folded or hung in an area without extreme humidity. Do not hang terry cloth by anything other than its loop to prevent unwanted tearing of the fabric over time.

Did you wash a product with the wrong detergent, making the terry cloth feel particularly stiff? No problem. Just rinse it in warm water, and the stiffness should disappear.

If you encounter loose loops or threads, don't hesitate to trim them. It won't harm the product in any way.

The most practical choice is neutral terry cloth, for example, from the Delicate Cotton collection.
